The SEM1401 and SEM1402 are loop powered trip amplifiers designed to accept a 4 to 20 mA signal from a transmitter and to provide a single trip output (SEM1401) or two individual trip outputs (SEM1402) sharing the same common. SEM1200 is an isolator that provides two isolated 4 to 20 mA output from a single 4 to 20 mA input. In modern control systems there are frequent requirements to send a coomon signal from a field transmitter to two different pieces of equipment e.g. a control system and a recorder. Because of earth loop effects or because the designer wants to ensure that any fault at the recorder has no effect on the control system, both signals should be isolated from each other.
